Score Verification Session

Hand Scoring  If you fail one or more of the subtests, you may submit a written request for hand scoring to

The fee for hand scoring one or more subtests is $10. The essay portion of Subtest 2 is not subject to rescoring.

The written request and the fee must be received by the FTCE/FELE Program office within 30 days following the date your score report was mailed to you. Make your check, money order, or cashier's check payable to National Evaluation Systems.

Score Verification Session  If you fail one or more paper-and-pencil or computer-based tests (or subtests), you may request an appointment for a score verification session .

To view your test for scoring errors, follow the instructions in the Score Interpretation Guide sent with your score report. Mail your request to the address indicated no later than 30 days after the date your score report was mailed. On the day you view the materials, you may file with the Department a statement listing specific scoring errors that might result in a passing score.

After a score verification session in Tallahassee, you must wait 31 calendar days before retaking the same examination or a subtest of an examination that you have verified; otherwise, the score for the retake will be invalidated and no score report will be issued. This includes computer-based tests as well as paper-and-pencil tests.

Please visit Florida State University's Certification Examinations for Florida Educators Web site for information pertaining to score verification dates, location, and instructions for attending a score verification. **Examinees cannot sign up for score verification sessions via the Web. You must fill out the form that accompanies your score report and return it to the mailing address printed on the form.
