Department of Education to Hold FCAT External Advisory Group Meeting in Orlando

The Department of Education (DOE) will hold the third Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) External Advisory Group meeting this Wednesday, August 8, in Orlando. The agenda for the meeting includes an update on the status of the Independent External Review of last year’s third grade reading FCAT results and presentations by DOE staff regarding school grades and Adequate Yearly Progress reporting for 2007.

The Department has established an FCAT External Advisory Group Web site at http://fcat.fldoe.org/fcatadvisory/ that contains all the materials for current and past meetings.

Attendees of the meeting represent education stakeholder groups throughout the state, including school district superintendents, school district administrators, district assessment coordinators, DOE officials, and education association representatives.
